My Teaching

Expertise and experience makes all the difference when choosing a teacher.  I have over 25 years experience serving on the faculties at leading conservatories - working with children, teens, and adults. My expertise includes a deep understanding of the language of music, a committment to bringing out excellence in artistic expression in each student, and the ability to adapt the best pedagogical methods to the needs of individual learners. 

Lesson plans are tailored to each individual, whether a young beginner, special learner, recreational music maker, or advanced competitor.

Artistic expression combined with the "bread and butter" aspects of piano instruction -  how to read and building a sound technique - are the hallmarks of the my approach.  Students are coached to play the piano artistically and fluently.

Research shows that students who are coached to perform expressively and naturally from the very beginning are the students who will stick with piano. 

Our goal - for every student - is joyful and artistic music making at the piano.
